San Juan, Puerto Rico – A partir de hoy a las 10 p.m. y hasta el 18 de agosto a las 10:00 p.m., todos los clientes móviles residenciales y comercialesde Liberty podrán realizar llamadas de larga distancia internacional a Colombia sin costo desde Puerto Rico, las Islas Vírgenes Estadounidenses o los Estados Unidos continentales. Esta iniciativa busca brindar apoyo a quienes necesitan verificar el bienestar de sus familiares, coordinar ayuda o mantenerse comunicados durante este momento.
“Al igual que hicimos en junio durante la emergencia en Venezuela, hoy queremos apoyar a la comunidad colombiana en Puerto Rico de la misma manera, facilitando la comunicación con sus seres queridos o colegas de trabajo en Colombia en este momento tan difícil”, dijo Giovanna Ramírez de Arellano, directora senior de comunicaciones y responsabilidad social corporativa de Liberty Puerto Rico.
La exención de cargos aplicará automáticamente. Los clientes no necesitan tomar acciones adicionales.
“Una vez más, Liberty mantiene su compromiso de apoyar a las comunidades a las que sirve y de responder de manera ágil ante eventos que impactan la vida de sus clientes y sus familias. Esto es parte de nuestra promesa, Contigo siempre”, concluyó Ramírez de Arellano.
Liberty offers free calls to Colombia
San Juan, Puerto Rico – August 12, 2026 – Starting tonight at 10 p.m. through August 18 at 10:00 p.m., all Liberty residential and business mobile customers will be able to make free international long distance calls to Colombia from Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands or the mainland United States. The initiative was launched to support those who need to check on the well-being of their family members, coordinate assistance, or stay in touch during the emergency.
“Just as we did in June during the emergency in Venezuela, today we want to support the Colombian community in Puerto Rico in the same way, by helping them stay in touch with their loved ones or coworkers in Colombia during this very difficult time,” said Giovanna Ramírez de Arellano, senior director of communications and corporate social responsibility at Liberty Puerto Rico.
The waiver will automatically apply to mobile calls. Customers do not need to take any additional action.
“Once again, Liberty remains committed to supporting the communities it serves and responding quickly to events that affect the lives of its customers and their families,” Ramírez de Arellano concluded.
